You
should get the appropriate jabs and also take Malaria medication prior to during
and after your visit. We will give you a health brief when you arrive that
covers the basics and if you follow this advise then the chances of your
catching an illness will be greatly reduced. We live very healthy lives here and
practice prevention rather than cure.
Malaria
is present in Livingstone but for the most part it is less dangerous strains
(there are 5). Covering up at night and using repellent and a Mosquito net
greatly reduce the risk of infection.
Minor
ailments can be dealt with in Livingstone. For major problems there are 3
flights a day to Johannesburg where medical facilities are world class.
It is
worth noting here that in 12 years we have never had a problem with any of our
volunteers.
