Volunteer Zambia offer quality volunteer programs within the Livingstone area.

These programs cover Education, Wildlife, Building and Community Projects.

 

We offer opportunities that improve the lives of others and the environment. The program must benefit a local community within the Livingstone Area. It must be sustainable and have a long-term goal.

 

The volunteer must be able to see they have contributed in a meaningful way to long term community development and that the resources they contributed have been used within this program.

We have partnered with a variety of local organizations, local community associations, non-profit and conservation groups.  All volunteer programs depend on the skilled coordination of a variety of elements: enthusiastic volunteers, meaningful work, organized projects, and supportive staff. It is our goal to orchestrate this process for you. We use our local experience and resources to provide volunteer experiences that bring pride and satisfaction to everyone involved.

Volunteer Zambia was formed in 2007 to provide volunteer programs direct to the client. The organisation is part of Africa Horizons a company formed in 1996 and is based in Livingstone, Zambia.

For 10 years African Horizons have run volunteer programs for American and European organisations as their in-country operator. In this role we welcome over 2000 volunteers a year.

We provide accommodation, transport and volunteer programs to over 30 well-known organisations most of whom have no in country operation or infrastructure of their own.

We live and work in Zambia. We only deal with Zambia, and we are the experts on volunteer programs within Zambia.

We have 65 full time Zambian staff and 4 European all of whom live in Zambia.
